With track season about to start, what a perfect time to lace up your shoes! Maybe you are wanting to run cross country in the fall but are hesitating to start your training because you don't have someone to run with. Fear not! Going out for track and field is a great way to train for next season while getting the benefit of having multiple training partners! Track offers many different events so you can find something you are are comfortable with. Being a cross country runner, I would recommend the 1600 meter, which is the equivalent of 1 mile. Much of the training is the same, so you will be ready to go when our season rolls around. If you haven't thought about track before, think about participating in it this season as part of your cross country training.

I have decided this year to try to log a total of 2017 miles in the year 2017. This calculates to about 39 miles a week. This will be a large undertaking but I am super excited to strive to attain the mileage. As of today, I am 50 total miles ahead. It has been an awesome journey thus far and I am excited to continue!
What is your goal this year? Do you have a goal? If not, it's not too late to set one. Comment to this post and get your goal on record so that you can be held accountable! May your feet be light! Mr. McDowell |
